Deep Sea Catalina

Safety

Safe hands, start to finish

A great day on the water starts with a boat you can trust and a captain who's done this thousands of times. Here's how we keep everyone safe.

Coast Guard-licensed captain

Your captain holds a current U.S. Coast Guard license [Master/OUPV] and runs the crossing with thousands of hours of local experience.

Fully insured

Deep Sea Catalina carries full marine liability insurance for every charter. Certificate available on request.

Life jackets for everyone — sized for kids

We carry U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets for every guest and size children before we leave the dock. California law requires kids under 13 to wear one while underway, and we make sure they fit.

A safety briefing before we leave

Every charter starts with a quick, friendly briefing — where things are, what to do, and how to make the most of the day.

A simple weather policy

If conditions aren't safe, we don't go. You'll choose a new date or get a full refund of your deposit — your safety is never a gamble.

Prepared for the unexpected

The boat carries all required safety equipment — life jackets, fire extinguishers, first-aid kit, and communication gear — and your captain is trained to use it.

Weather policy

If conditions aren't right, we don't go.

You'll choose a new date or get a full refund of your deposit. A safe crossing and a comfortable day matter more than forcing a schedule.

Know who's at the helm

Safety is personal here: the same captain, the same standards, and a boat prepared for every charter.
